Get better at one piece, one play at a time

A play is a proven, multi-step process you run with Arty on one of your own pieces. Name what you want to improve, get a plan, add a private version, and see the two compared against your goal.

How it goes

A wizard, not a conversation

—— § 02 · Method

Every run is a sequence of steps with one thing to do on each. Arty reads your piece and your goal; you decide what to change.

01 / Pick

A play and a piece

Choose a play from the list above, then one of your own pieces from your ArtHelper account. The work stays yours — this app reads it and stores the run.

02 / Aim

Say what you want

Name what you are trying to improve, in your own words. Everything Arty says afterwards is judged against that goal, not against a generic idea of good art.

03 / Work

One step at a time

Arty gives you a plan and one exercise. You add a private version when you are ready, and see what changed and whether it moved you closer.

04 / Return

Pick it back up

A run remembers where it got to. Close the tab, come back next week on another device, and you land on the same step with the whole history intact.

What to expect

An opinion you can argue with, never a score

—— § 03 · Honesty

Judged against your goal
Arty compares a version against the one before it, and against what you said you were trying to do — not against a generic idea of good art.
No numbers, no grades
When you ask which version to keep, you get a pick and a reason on each count. There is no rating anywhere in this app, and there is not going to be one.
Your versions stay private
A version you add here is not published to your portfolio and does not appear in any feed. The only thing that ever leaves is what you share yourself.
Your work stays yours
Pieces come from your ArtHelper account. This app reads them and stores the run — it is not somewhere your artwork lives.

§ 04 · Start

One piece, one goal, about twenty minutes

Bring the piece you keep going back to. You can stop after any step and pick it up later.
